Sample Answer

I have always been a mischievous kid during my school years. I have always been in and out of trouble during the school years for one thing or another. At times trouble came looking for me rather than me looking for it but, I guess that’s the beauty of school life, no matter how good or bad it was it always brings a smile on my face when, I think about it. I remember during Diwali days, I was caught lighting fireworks in the school that, I planned to light in the school toilet and all my teachers and the principal weren’t quite pleased about it.
I got suspended from school for a long while and even my parents were summoned to the school. The fact that, I was supposed to appear for my board examinations that year made matters even worse. I was kept under the radar and every now and then teachers will come up and check on me. I even had to go to the principal’s office a few times and my bags were checked almost on a daily basis. I was even told that, I won’t be allowed to give my board examinations. On the other hand, I did become very popular in school so not all went in vain. I got a lot of attention from school mates and became quite a famous name in the school premises because of my actions.
The consequences of my actions were pretty bad as the aftermath was a mental torture of sorts. My parents grounded me for a long time and I wasn’t allowed to go anywhere nor speak to anyone after the school hours. My cell phone and bike were taken off me and even the tutor from coaching classes came home to teach me. On the school front regular bag checks and constant surveillance from teachers were part of day to day activities. I was even made to sit through extra exams for me to get my ID card for board exams so yeah it was some big trouble that I got into.

IELTS Speaking Cue Card Questions # Leisure Time

IELTS SPEAKING CUE CARD QUESTIONS # LEISURE TIME, IELTSBAND7, DEHRADUNLeisure time is the one where you are the master of the time! There is nothing to do that has been ordered by someone! You do what you wish to do, so it could be cooking or driving or sleeping or for that matter even dancing. This time we are looking at an IELTS Cue card that talks about the things that an individual likes to do during their leisure time.

Talk about something you like to do in your leisure time. You should say –

  • what is it?
  • why do you like it?
  • when did you picked it up?

also, explain, what will if you do if sparred from doing that activity.

SAMPLE ANSWER 1

Leisure time is the one time that I rarely get, but whenever I do get the time, I prefer reading books or listening to music. Reading has been my favorite since I was in my teenage years and it has helped me to grow as an individual. It taught me so much about different domains and helped me in understanding the new things that often come up in my life. For instance, it was when I read the autobiography of Gandhi that I learnt about the Indian politics.

It was during the final year of my college that I picked up the habit of reading and have not stopped much after that! During reading I used to mark the vocabulary words and read them through. Also, I would sometimes mark the paragraphs in the book and try to make notes of good learning’s provided in the book.

If someone tells me to never read a book in my life, I think I would then go for dancing. Dancing is something that fills my soul, it just energizes me and makes me feel happy about life. So, if not reading, I would be dancing my life through songs and making others happy.

SAMPLE ANSWER 2

Leisure time is the one time that we get to learn so much about ourselves. it is the time of our own and I usually prefer dancing in my leisure time. Dancing fills my soul with joy and helps me to understand life better. It helps in gaining different perspective about life and broaden my horizons.

I picked up dancing when I started working at a corporate company and started doing the basics. I enjoyed my time doing dancing in different clubs and the different forms of them. Sometimes, I enjoyed doing Bollywood and the other times I would enjoy doing Zumba.

After a few months, I started learning Kathak and now growing in Kathak. If not dancing, I think I would have went for acting. Acting is quite similar to dancing, one is allowed to be expressive and share their thoughts and opinions.

“The conventional definition of management is getting work done through people, but real management is developing people through work” – Agha Abedi
Undoubtedly, the organisations which follow this approach create the most productive work environments. In fact, many research findings show that the difference between well-managed and poorly-managed companies largely depends on the quality of people they hire as managers. Therefore, all companies right from major corporations to independent businesses need skilled managers in order to succeed.
Thoughtfully planned business management courses can inculcate the high level of knowledge and attributes which managers require to take the leading roles. I aim to pursue a Bachelor’s course in Business Administration that will provide a strong foundation on entrepreneurialism and how the management world functions. Academically, I obtained 8.4 CGPA in 10th grade from Asian Public School, Chandigarh, India in the year 2015. I performed very well in all subjects in 10th class but my interests in social sciences motivated me to choose Humanities stream in my senior secondary school. This stream included 5 major subjects namely psychology, economics, history, geography and English. I was fascinated with psychology and economics.
Psychology gave me an insight into the issues employees face in an organization. The quote “Employees never leave bad companies, they leave bad bosses” by Beverly Kaye influenced me deeply. . . . write 400 more words of your wish.

cue card#made you happy

Describe something that made you happy recently. You should say:
– what was the incident
-when was the incident
-why did make you happy

Sample Answer:

About a week back I had been feeling really stressed out and overworked due to my extra shifts at work. I was having very little sleep and was quite unable to take care of myself.

Over the weekend, my brother came to visit me to see how was getting along. He immediately noticed my put out state and began to worry. The next thing I knew, he was dragging me into town. He took me to all of my favourite city landmarks especially the ones next to the river.

Then we went to this fantastic restaurant and he treated me to the biggest ice cream sundae they had. We had a blast at the arcade followed by a trip to the movies. By the time we go home, I had all but forgotten my worries in my exhausted happiness.

Next morning on waking up I realized what a great time I had had, furthermore I felt more relaxed than I had in a long time. My brother showed me that sometimes all it takes to unwind is going out somewhere and enjoying the moment. This is an incident that will surely become a fond memory someday.
