SAMPLE ANSWER-

Being betrayed by a friend whom you trust with your life, hurts the most. The pain lasts longer when the betrayer happens to be your closest friend. I would like to share my experience about how a friend stabbed me at my back.

It was around a year ago, when my close friend Sam asked me to lend my laptop to him. I was completely aware of his careless nature, but being his close friend I could not turn down his request. He needed my laptop to complete his pending assignments as his own laptop broke down. He assured me to keep it safe and return it back as soon as he had finished his college assignments.

I waited for 2 weeks, for Sam to give back my laptop. I felt suspicious when he starting giving lame excuses for returning it. He even stopped taking my calls when I decided to visit him to get back my belonging and he confessed that he took it to his college but misplaced it there. Due to his negligence, he forgot my laptop at his class and later when he came back for it, he was not able to find it.

He was lying to me this whole time, and I felt extremely deceived when I learned about the entire truth. He was afraid to tell me the reality as it could affect our friendship. But I’d have accepted his apology if he had told me about it in the first place without giving excuses. I forgave him later as he was very guilty for his irresponsible behavior.

I have always been very fond of wearing a variety of dresses as per the requirement of occasion. In that sense one can call me a fashion freak as well. Whenever there is any event either in my family or I have been invited by my friends, I always take extra care of my attire.

One such incident which I can vividly recall was when I wore a proper Indian dress. It was my brother’s wedding. I still remember that day as I was flooded with compliments from each and everybody.

Family functions always give you an opportunity to get dressed up the way you’ve dreamt of. After doing a lot of research and taking opinions from a few designers who run renowned boutiques in my city, I ended up my search with a traditional ethnic dress. It was a 3 piece dress comprising a long skirt, top and a stole. The whole dress was embellished with golden embroidery and pearls. It was yellow in colour as it’s an ideal colour for wedding celebrations. I should also say that yellow goes well with my skin and it enhances my complexion.

Dressing up took quite a while and I was actually late for the celebration. When I reached the venue, most of the guests were already there. They were waiting for me eagerly. Seeing me in proper Indian attire left them with no words. To my surprise, almost everybody came to me personally to compliment me for my choice of dress. I was overwhelmed with their comments. The wedding was over but my dress became a talk of the town.

Ancestral belongings hold a special place in people’s heart. Here, I would like to tell about an antique chandelier in my house that has passed on from generation to generation. I remember during my childhood, I used to question my parents about that chandelier hanging in the living area. This object belonged to my ancestors and after they passed away, my grandfather kept it as a remembrance of their memory.

My great grandfather was an activist who largely contributed for the peace and harmony between India and Saudi Arabia. This chandelier belonged to my great grandfather who got it as a gift from Dubai long back. As my father had told me about its history, it was a souvenir presented to my great grandfather by a king of Dubai who was impressed by his achievements. Since then it has stayed in the family like a symbol of pride. I feel very proud narrating the story behind it to my friends when they ask me about it.

According to my knowledge, this chandelier is more than hundred years old. It has a classic royal look and consists of multiple lamps hanged in a branched frame with minimalist design. Its gold finish has not faded and is still intact. Though it requires a lot of maintenance, my parents had never thought about getting rid of it. The chandelier is an heirloom and it is very close to my family and it would be a great honor for me to own it someday because of its priceless value.

SAMPLE ANSWER-

Being a lethargic person, I usually end up procrastinating and not taking part in outdoor activities. It was recently that I went on a trek with a few of my friends when they persuaded me to accompany them. As it was my first trek, I enjoyed it greatly and it helped me challenge my physical strength.

I live in Dehradun, which is a valley in Uttarakhand it is surrounded by hills, therefore, we do not have to travel long distances for activities like trekking and camping. Two weeks ago, I went hiking in Mussoorie which is nearly one hour away from my city.

Trekking is a fun activity that mainly involves exploring nature on foot. Though it needed a fair amount of physical exertion, the view it witnessed after reaching our final destination was genuinely worth it. Going for hiking for the first time was not only a recreational outdoor activity, but I also got the taste of living in the wild though just for a few hours. As we just carried some of the essentials, for the first time I experienced cooking in the wild with limited resources which was extraordinary.

I’m glad that I went for trekking as it helped me overcome my fear of heights. I’d highly recommend this activity of everyone because though one gets exhausted, it’s refreshing and an easy escape from the mundane boredom of professional and personal lifestyle. The best part is that you develop a close relation with your friends while helping each other through difficult paths and finding ways as well.
