IELTS Cue Card Sample Answers # Ideal Parents

The most important person in any individual’s life are his or her parents. Parents are the people who tend to shape the individual. Although, every individual admires his or her parents the most, their are certain people in our lives whom we adore irrespective of whether they are associated with us or not. Let us today have a look at questions related to ideal parents that might be asked in the cue card section.

Describe people that you know and believe to be very good parents.

You should say:

Who are they?

How did you meet them?

Why do you think they are good parents?

and explain what it requires to be good parents.

Parents are the most important people in any ones life and my parents are the most important for me. But, I think when it comes to talking of people I know and believe they are truly good parents, I think the names that comes to my mind is that of Will Smith and Jaden Smith. These are the two most popular parents of the Hollywood industry and have raised some beautiful kids.

Sadly, I have never been able to meet them in real life but I have seen enough of their interviews with others and sometimes with their children, explaining how they raise their kids and the kind of values they imbibe in them. The reason I think they are great parents because they did taught their children things which I think everyone should teach their kids.

One of them is experiment. They have asked their kids to experiment with their passions and the other things that they love. In a particular interview, Jaden talks to her child and says that it is very important for you to love yourself because it is only when you love yourself that you can go about and fall in love with someone else and that is how the world falls in love with you.

In one interview, Will Smith talks of how for you to be able to create a wall it is very important for you to be able to put that one brick perfectly and that is how life is lived. I think these are some great lessons that are taught and the way they live, I believe they are truly great parents.

I believe to be a good parent requires you to be great individuals first. Because a child often learn more by what he or she sees than what he or she is told to do. Apart from that the one thing which I believe truly separates normal parents from the great parents, is the trust they have on their child and his or her potential. It surely takes lot of love and more important trust ones own upbringing to be able to trust the child completely.

I believe it is only when a child is trusted and told that he or she is trusted that the true nature of the child evolves.

We all love our parents and believe that parents do play a very important role in everyone’s life. But the one parents, or for that matter, the one mother that I truly adore is the mother of great scientist Thomas Alva Edison. I don’t know much about her because of the reason that there is so less said about her but the one incidence that is talked about gives a lasting impression of the kind of lady she was.

It is said that once Thomas came back home with a note saying that he cannot read or write anymore and his mother read it and told that he is brilliant and can achieve whatever he thinks he can. Instead of losing faith on his child because of what the school said, her mother believed his child. She taught him and I think it was only because of her that the world had one of the greatest scientist of the century, Thomas Alva Edison.

There are parents who love their child, ones who teach their child but someone who could trust their child even when the world went against them, it requires lot of love, perseverance and trust.

I believe it is only when a child is trusted and told that he or she is trusted that the true nature of the child evolves.

IELTS Cue Card Sample Answer # Exercise You Did

There are times in our lives when we do understand the importance of exercise but than most of us forget it and go back to our mundane lives. Let us today have a look at a cue card that talks about a exercise that you used to do but have left it now for some reasons.

Talk about a form of exercise you used to do but no longer do now.

You should say:

What short of exercise it was

How long you did it

Why you stopped

And say if you would like to do it again or not. why?

I remember I had started a routine where I used to go our for jogging everyday in the morning. So, for about an hour I used to go out and jog and it was really nice. I would some times go to a different route, the other times to somewhere else and in that way explore the city. It was nice, but with work pressure increasing, I slowly left it.

I remember going our for jogging for almost seven months before I just could not manage to do away with the increased work pressure and jogging. Most of the times, I could barely get up in the morning and slowly I left of with this habit.

But, it is now that I realize that it was really good and in between work and exercise I should have given more priority to the exercise because it helped me to do my work more effectively.

But, this week, I have decided to start off with the daily regime that I had and get going with it. I have already gone for jogging for now almost three days in a row and wish to be able to finally carry this habit for the entire life.

I remember joining the yoga club some time back and used to go for yoga everyday in the evening, for an hour. It was truly amazing because after a long day I used to feel good about life and be relaxed.

I continued doing it for almost six months before I had to leave the training center and shift to a new place. Although I did tried to continue the habit I could not do it. Firstly, there were no near by yoga centers and for me to be able to do it regularly on my own was not possible.
Some day or the other some work would pop up and I won’t be able to do it. But, I have realized that exercise is surely very important for us and therefore I would continue with some other form of exercise.

The reason I wont go back to yoga is because with yoga, initially, I believe one needs a trainer and doing it on your own may lead you to do wrong steps or things that might not be very effective. I am rather planning to starting off with jogging everyday and playing badminton to remain fit.

We all have some days in our lives that shape our next moments in life. These are the deciding days, the ones in which we either take special decisions or some important events occur in our lives. Let us today have a look at the cue card questions that might be asked related to important day in life.

Talk about an important day in your life.

You should say:

when this day was

where you were and what happened

if you were alone or with others

and explain why this day was important to you.

Sample Answer 1:

There are days we never remember and the ones that we never forget. I have had some memorable days in my life and the one that I believe changed lot of things about me or may be made way for better things to come up, was when I got a job as a blogger. Initially, I had some blogs of mine in which I wrote things here and there but I clearly remember wanting a job to be able to earn money and I was rejected outright from many jobs, because the ones that I was trying to were of English teacher.

The other day, I went for an interview for a job of English teacher, the person directly rejected me but while turning the pages of my resume, he noticed the name of my blogs. On asking if I write blogs, he instead of offering me a job as an English teacher gave me a job of a content writer for his blog and I have been writing for it since past two years. The reason the day is still important for me is because it marked on a new journey, a journey where I realized that hard work is the key to anything in life and the perseverance to go through those initial days is what makes you successful.

There are days when I just don’t understand anything and days when I feel like a loser, when I get problems I have never heard of and those are the days when I look back and say to myself that if I could write about something I did not had a clue about, I surely can do much better with things, at least I have an idea of. It was that job that helped me become more confident, bold and hard worker. It taught me that there are no excuses, if you want to achieve something, you go about and do that.

Sample Answer 2:

There surely are some important days in everyone’s life and the one that is still the most important day of my life is 4th January 2017. This was the day when I took the first step towards my career, the first step towards my future company. I had been thinking of opening a new venture where in I could teach people and it was on this day that I opened a recurring deposit for the company’s initial work.

It was an amazing day with lot of things happening here and there. I wanted to open the recurring deposit and was eagerly waiting for my salary but then my friend came up to me telling that the bank has got into some issues and won’t be able to transfer our salaries into our accounts. For a second, it was disgusting feeling, because I had been thinking too much about it and then it all came to me crashing down. i was feeling low and went out to have something. And while I was coming back entirely disappointed, something struck me and I went to the ATM to get some cash.

The moment I did the transaction, I was amazed at the amount it showed me. It clearly meant that I have got my salary and could open my recurring deposit. I rushed towards my laptop and opened the bank’s website. For the first time, it did not load but I tried again and it open. Finally, I was able to open a recurring deposit and the feeling was very amazing. It felt as if I had taken the first step towards shaping my future and I hope the day I will need the money, I will be able to use it for my business.

IELTS Cue Card Sample Answer # Sporting Event

Sports are an essential part of our lives. Some people are born athletes, some become with practice while there are many for whom sports is just a part of their lives. Something that people tend to do to remain fit. No matter how sport is part of your lives, if you want to be fit, there is some sort of sport event you should be part of. Let us today have a look at a cue card related to sports.

Describe a sporting event that you have attended. You should say:

– what the event was
– when the event took place
– who you went there with
and explain how you felt about it.

It was the year of 2011 and I along with my friends went to see the ICC world cup, where the finalist were India and Srilanka. There were speculations that India might win and if that happen, it would be after almost 2 decades that India will win. There was lot of craze in all of us and we decided to attend the event and be part of. What was more exciting was that Sachin Tendulkar, who is India’s best cricketer, was playing for the last time in world cup. With so much associated with that world cup, we decided to go and watch the game.

The finals between India and Srilanka was on April 2, 2011 and I remember, the heat of the environment was so high that it was not just a match, it was so much more than that. There was an excitement, a flair of enthusiasm among all the people to witness it. Being a part of crowd, I think most of the Indians were very positive about it.

I and my friends got hold of seats that were good enough and we were able to see the players and the game clearly. Even more, people around us started interacting with us and with every passing ball we started giving judgments, playing silly games of deciding what will be the score.

What was the most amazing part of the game was the final over, the over in which the entire nation stood still to watch every ball, every second and every minute seemed so crucial and when finally Dhoni, our captain hit the ball it was amazing. There are several sporting events I have been part of, but nothing has ever given me memories like the World Cup Finals 2011.

Unfortunately, I have never been able to watch a sporting event live, but there have been several that I have watched on television. The one that I particularly remember is the London Olympics. Me and my friends were so excited about it that they came over my house and we watched it together with me and my family. The event took place in the summer of last year.

We all were so excited about the events, not particularly the games but also the other events that were going on, the speeches and the people who had come and then the atheletes. They were truly amazing, the way they played, we in our homes could feel the heat of the moment. I wonder what the sportsmen might have felt. The moment when some won Gold, the other times when they lost it, it was a display of human emotions and it was truly amazing.

Although, not all of us were very excited about the entire Olympics. Like, me and my one friend was not particularly interested in the boxing event. So, during that time we preferred going out and talking about other things in life.

It was during the Olympics that I realized that it would be great to be able to watch this event live and we are planning to go and watch it, wherever it happens the next time.
