CUE CARD – DESCRIBE A JOB YOU WOULD NOT LIKE TO DO IN THE FUTURE

Speaking -Part 2 (Cue Card)

DESCRIBE A JOB YOU WOULD NOT LIKE TO DO IN THE FUTURE

You should say:

  • What is the job?
  • How you heard about it?
  • Why you don’t want to do it?
  • How you feel about the job?

Sample Answer

There are extremely few jobs available due to increased competition and growing employment crisis. No task is simple to complete; all tasks demand arduous work.

While some individuals have a dream job, others may not prioritize that. One such job role that I would never do is customer executive. But I find it too challenging. It appears simple, but I don’t think so. These experts handle a variety of tasks, such as taking phone calls, responding to inquiries from clients, and helping with problems that clients may be having. They seem to be under a lot of pressure to respond quickly, have nice conversations, show empathy, and figure out the right answers when they need them. Most importantly, most employers seek out workers who can work nights because of the nature of the jobs.

Another gap is that working at night becomes risky, especially for girls. The day is more exhausting when headphones are worn. A cousin of mine works as a customer service representative. One of my cousins works up to 10 or 11 hours a day as a customer service executive. Sundays are not his off days. They actually don’t get many holidays in a given year. He reveals that they have daily goals to meet and that their pay will be withheld if they don’t. One cannot ultimately look up to this profession for future growth because only a small number of employees in this sector get promotions. I would prefer working as a web developer.

Sample Answer

Gift giving is simply an act of love, care and gratitude. It always brings a smile on the face of the person who receives it. Certainly, selecting a gift for someone is actually a complex process. Nonetheless, it helps an individual to define relationships and strengthen bonds with family and friends. Recently, I gave a gift to my younger sister. Her name is Shraddha, and she studies in class 9. I had promised her to gift a watch if she would stand first in the class. Since she stood first in the class, I gifted her a branded wristwatch.

Although my sister is very intelligent and hard-working, I want her to be more disciplined and punctual. That is why I gifted her a watch to make her understand the value of time. Moreover, wearing a branded watch has also become a status symbol. A watch is a reflection of one’s style, taste and personality. People not only wear watches to see the time but also to make a style statement as well. Different varieties of branded and non-branded watches are available in the market. This certainly makes the choice easier.

The colour of the watch was black with a big round dial. The watch was simple yet elegant, just like my sister. Fortunately, I was able to choose and buy a perfect gift matching my sister’s personality. She felt so delighted to receive the much-awaited gift. She kissed and hugged me tightly to show that she really liked the gift. I could see the sparkles in her eyes and gratification in her gestures, which eventually made me happy.

planning-a-trip Best IELTS Band 7 Coaching in dehradun
Sample Answer

I have a lot of friends that are into different fields of careers. We sit together every now and then to share our experiences of our lives and the things we do. Every other time or so, someone or the other has an exciting story to share about something interesting that they did. I love listening to such experiences and stories that they share. This is because I get to know about and learn a lot of new things.

In addition, I also get new ideas for a hobby, a vacation, or any other new thing to try out during my leisure time. I have a friend who recently came back from a trip to a hill station in the Himalayan Mountains. His trip was very exciting and adventurous, and even while listening to his story, I started to plan my own trip to the place. He stayed there and enjoyed many adventure sports such as rock climbing, river rafting, and trekking in the woods, but the main and probably the most enjoyable activity was paragliding.

I have seen paragliding in many movies, and I really wish to do it and experience the feeling of flying in the sky like a bird. Even though I have not done it, I still know that it must be a very mesmerising experience. Flying high in the sky and looking down upon the land beneath brings a cherished feeling of ecstasy to every enthusiast. I have decided to plan my next vacation during the upcoming winters, and I will go to the hill station and get a hands-on experience of paragliding.

Sample Answer

Friends and family are highly important relationships that stand by you in your time of need. Man is a social entity and always forms ‘give and take’ relations, where they take help and help those in need every time. I have a lot of good friends and caring, supportive family members as well. We all stand by each other’s side during tough times. One such incident is worth mention, and it is about my cousin brother. It happened when I had just completed my degree and joined my first job. I liked my job very much even though it was a very hectic one.

I had a load of assignments I needed to complete, which often required me to work after hours from my home. This posed an issue as I did not own a computer then. One day, I was on an outing with my cousin, who was very fond of me and adored me. Being the elder brother, he taught me a lot through real-life examples of life and its problems with the utmost compassion. I told him of this issue during our discussion, in hopes that he would help me out with his advice there as well. To my surprise, he took me to his place and gave me his personal laptop computer. He basically lent it to me and told me to return it only after I had purchased one of my own.

I was humbled and thankful to him for this huge help, as well as worrying about hampering his work. He assured me that he had an official laptop as well, and it was sufficient for his work. I thanked him a lot and used the laptop for the next three months. After saving from my salary, I purchased a new laptop for my own use and returned my cousin his laptop. I still keep that incident as a cherished memory and thank him for his graciousness.
