SAMPLE ANSWER –

Throughout time, the possession of certain items has been linked to achieving a higher status, such as having a car. The ownership of expensive car brands indicates financial superiority and marks an image in the minds of the people in the society. Therefore, in this materialistic world, people of different cultural and financial backgrounds want to have a four-wheeler.

In some countries, the majority of people cannot afford a car, but with the emergence of options like car loans and the availability of second-hand cars, everyone enjoys this privilege. Millennials today believe in giving a ‘good impression’ to others, because of which they urge their elders to invest in fancy and the latest models. Possessing a car has its own convenience and comfort, which also comes with some liabilities like maintenance and environmental concerns.

Of course, my parents do own a car, but I still prefer taking public transport in order to avoid the traffic on the congested roads of my country. Not everyone thinks the same way.

All in all, the utility of a car is replaced by the image and status symbol that it offers. With the booming economy and stagnant car prices, more and more people are getting influenced to purchase a car in the future. However, people consider ownership of an expensive four-vehicle equivalent to a luxury. In addition, in the period of conscious environmentalism and hefty fuel prices, people must be more concerned about the pollution it causes rather than their own image and status.

I have learnt a lot of practical skills, such as cooking, driving, working with wood, and working on computers, among others. I was able to learn them from different places such as my school, my home, workshops and vocational classes. The most illustrious one, as far as I’m concerned, is graphic designing. I had a passion for drawing and art in my childhood. My father bought me a computer when I was in eighth grade, and I started using computer applications to design and draw things on the computer.

It started with painting on Microsoft Paint, and later on, I learnt other applications and designing possibilities with even more advanced software such as AutoCAD and Photoshop. As time passed, I grabbed every opportunity to learn about designing and attended diploma courses to become adept at them. After graduating from high school, I got many chances to work on cards, posters, banners, and logos for the people I personally knew, and I earned my expenses through these.

I have gained and mastered the skill by practising a lot. I have read different books on designing and its concepts and spent hours designing classes to hone my abilities. I took every work or freelancing opportunity that I could get and started earning money by putting this skill to good use.

Even though I have a long way to go, I am glad to have this skill, as I plan to build my career in the design industry, where this skill is a required basic necessity. This way, I can use my skill to earn a livelihood.

But my perfect holiday would be on an all-India tour all by myself. It has been my dream for a very long time to be able to travel across India and write down the stories of the country. Of meeting new people and getting to know their stories.

I would start off from my base location and move ahead towards the east. Travelling across all the east and moving towards the north, west and then south. It will be an all-out trip to the different cities, the major festivals, the major temples, and, more importantly, the common people of the place. I want to meet all those people and then interview them. Get to know their stories and write about them.

If I were able to do this holiday, it would be the best thing to happen to me. Not because it will be a big one, but because it would be for me a dream come true. Knowing my country and getting to know its past, present, and future is what makes this holiday perfect for me.

Home is where the heart is and having a own house is on the top of my bucket list. Ideally, I don’t fantasize about living in a house that is too spacious. Rather, I’d love to reside in an abode that allows me to have my peace of mind all day long.

Firstly, it will be a one-storied bungalow inspired by the design of the Victorian Era. I want my house to be on the slap bang of the city, surrounded by nature. The covered area should be 2000 sq. Ft and it would have 5 rooms with one master bedroom. Every room would have a balcony from where beautiful views of snow- covered mountains is visible. There should be enough empty space around so that I can have a perfect view of the mesmerizing surroundings.

Apart from this, I am really desiring that my house should be loaded with all sorts of mod cons. Including, a gym, a gigantic pool, a game Centre with a home theatre with recliners and a table tennis table to help me enjoy my time during my free time. At the top of it, I really desire a large L- shaped kitchen with a glass cabinet, dishwasher and a 12- seater dining table. Finally, in the open space there should be separate parking slots for the 4 wheelers.

I would love to reside in this apartment because it will be filled with all the comforts anyone could dream of. Besides, it would allow me to stay close to nature and far away from hustle and bustle of city.

Q1. Do most Indian People live in an apartment or a house?

Answer. I reckon most of the Indians Choose the house they reside in by considering the city or town they want to build their house in. For example, in big cities, people live in high rise buildings due to scarcity of land. Viz a viz in small cities or towns most of the people prefer living in detached houses rather than apartments.

Q2. Do young people in your country like to live with their parents or by themselves?

Answer. Mostly the younger generation in my country prefer to live with their parents as they provide constant support and guidance for their child. They do move out of their homes in situations where they have to pursue higher studies or if they have better career prospects outside in some other city or country.
