Sample Answer

Once upon a sunny day, I saw a little kid who looked lost in a big park. The kid seemed really worried and was looking around with watery eyes. I went up to them and squatted down to talk, giving them a friendly smile. I asked if everything was okay and where their family might be. The kid slowly told me they got separated from their parents while playing.

In a soft voice, I said things would get better. I asked for their parents’ names and tried calling them, but nobody answered. I thought the kid might be getting even more worried, so I suggested we go to the park’s help center. Holding their hand, we walked there and talked to the people working. They made an announcement on the speakers, saying the parents’ names and where they were.

Not long after, the kid’s parents hurried to the help center, looking worried but happy when they saw the child. They hugged them tight and said thanks a lot for taking care of them. Seeing the family back together made me feel really good, and I was happy I could help when they were so worried. As they left, I couldn’t help but smile, feeling glad that I could bring some peace to the kid and their family.

Writing task 2: It is better for children to begin learning a foreign language at primary school rather than secondary school.

Writing task 2 Some experts believe that it is better for children to begin learning a foreign language at primary school rather than secondary school. Do the advantages of this outweigh the drawbacks? Write at least 250 words.

Sample Answer

Foreign languages have become a key component of school curriculum in many parts of the world. But, whether children should learn them at primary or secondary school is a topic of frequent discussion. Some people argue that children should be introduced to international languages at primary level. Personally, I believe that the pros of this early exposure of foreign languages outnumber the cons.

To begin with, in today’s globalized world, it is almost impossible to deny the significance of being a bilingual or a multilingual. Our foreign language abilities play a defining role in every field, be it finding a dream job in a multinational company or settling in a new country. Therefore, teaching international languages to young pupils is a major step towards their bright future. More importantly, children’s minds are highly receptive when they are young. They can learn anything much more quickly than adults and are not afraid of making mistakes. These early language lessons can not only boost the confidence level of learners but also help them attain native-like fluency. These classes will also have a positive impact on children’s social life.

On the other hand, the negatives of making children learn an international language when they do not understand its value should not be overlooked. Most schools, especially the Asian ones, have many subjects like science, mathematics, history and geography etc. in their curriculum. As a result, young students have a lot to learn. So, including one more subject in the form of a foreign language definitely puts additional pressure on children. Some learners find it hard to cope with this extra work. It is often observed that if students do not get the support they need, they tend to lose their interest in the language.

To sum up, language acquisition is a gradual process. The sooner it begins, the better the results will be. I believe that careful lesson planning can make the entire learning experience enjoyable and rewarding for every child.

Describe a place where you go to do outdoor activities or play sports.

You should say:

    • Where is it located?
    • What activities can you do at this place?
    • How often do you go there?
Sample Answer

Health is wealth, an adage that I follow religiously, especially in this contemporary period where health is often neglected due to increased workload and indolence. To keep up with my health, I perform various activities like swimming, yoga, and running; among these, my favourite is yoga. Doing yoga fills me with vitality and invigorates me both physically and mentally. I perform it in an open place that is 100 meters away from my home. One can perform numerous activities since it has a large space that can accommodate many people without any inconvenience, but since it is away from the hustle and bustle of the city, it doesn’t have many visitors; only those who live nearby are seen. The place has a calm and verdant environment. I regularly visit that place with my friends and sometimes even independently. The place is completely safe, as it is guarded by the army. The place is much cleaner than any other place in my town.

Describe a time when you helped a child.

Sample Answer

Helping others is one of the ways that people can feel satisfied and can help them meet new people and establish new connections. To be truthful, it is said that performing acts of kindness and helping others boosts one’s mood and makes one more upbeat. By God’s grace, I have been able to serve many individuals since I frequently enjoy helping others. Likewise, I would be sharing a time when I helped a young person. A few days ago, on the way home from work, I stopped by the nearby mall to do some window shopping. Due to the weekend, it was highly crowded. As I was looking over the recent additions, I noticed a young child who appeared perplexed and anxious. I continued to watch him in the hopes that his guardian would show up, but sadly, nobody did. In light of the widespread offences, I felt compelled to step in as I became concerned. I couldn’t leave the child there by himself. I asked about the circumstances and learned that he was with his parents and secretly went to the children’s area. Now that he has lost track of them, I took matters into my own hands and escorted him to the mall’s security office, where his parents were desperately waiting for their child, they were relieved to see their son. They praised me for my assistance and support, the best part was the hug that I welcomed from that naïve soul which made my day.
