Dear Sir,

I am Amandeep Singh and I am writing to inform you about a piece of cloth which I left in the hotel room. I had booked room no. 2100 in your hotel. I and my friend stayed there for two days i.e., from 02/01/19 to 04/01/19.

Today, while unpacking my clothes, I noticed that a piece of clothing was missing in my luggage. I realised that it was a white colour formal shirt with black buttons, which I forgot to pack before leaving the hotel room. Probably, I left the shirt in the wardrobe inside the room. The shirt is very close to my heart as it was gifted by my mother on my birthday.

I called the receptionist and informed her about the same. But, she refused to help without your consent and asked me to first report the matter to you. Therefore, I request you to look into the matter at your earliest convenience .By any chance, if you find the shirt kindly send it to my residential address.

I appreciate your quick response.

Yours Sincerely

Amandeep Singh

Special thanks to Akash Gautam for the contribution of this answer.

Dear Sir,

This is in regard to seek your help in finding one of my belongings which I, unfortunately, left at your hotel during my stay.

I was at your place a fortnight ago and my stay lasted for seven days. Though everything looked fine during my checkout from your hotel; however, when I reached home and unpacked my suitcase, I realized that I forgot my tuxedo in the hotel room assigned to me; room number is 301. As for the suit, it is a black colored tuxedo which is wrapped up in a black and gray colored cover. Also, I vividly remember that it was placed in the wardrobe inside the room.

It is imperative for me to get my piece of clothing as soon as possible because firstly, it is quite expensive and secondly, I need to wear it in an imminent family function on the first week of next month. Therefore, I request you to look into the matter at your earliest convenience. Kindly send the suit to my residential address present in the attached envelope; I would bear the complete postal charges.

I appreciate your quick response.

Yours sincerely
Johny

Dear Sir,

I am Rohit and I am working as a general manager in ABC Company based in Noida. I am writing to inform you about the important documents I left in your taxi. Yesterday, I took your taxi from Noida to Delhi airport at 3 p.m.

Today, when my sister asked for my pan card, I noticed that I have lost the folder of my personal documents. I tried to search everywhere at home but could not find them. After pondering upon for almost an hour, I realised that while travelling to Delhi airport, I left those personal documents in your taxi (DL01 AA 2345).

I immediately contacted the taxi-driver but his phone was not reachable. Furthermore, when I contacted your representative, he denied for any kind of support.

Kindly look into this matter on urgent basis and do the needful as these documents are really important for me.

I look forward to hearing from you.

old-versus-young-generation Best IELTS Band 7 Coaching in Dehradun

Sample Answer

In last few decades, the trend has shifted from joint family to nuclear family. Nowadays, children don’t prefer spending time with their grandparents as they happy to have internet and smartphones. These changes in the society has led to an apparent discrimination between the old and the young. In some countries old generation is exceptionally important whereas, in other countries the new generation holds more significance. I will discuss about both the views in my essay.

On one hand, due to the rise in dual income households, the role of elderly people has also increased. Working parents can leave their children in the custody of the grandparents. This way they can help their children to learn the right values and morals which is impossible with the maids and servants. Additionally, old people are the stewards of the culture and traditions of a country which they transfer to the next generation. They also help in fostering capable young individuals by sharing their knowledge, skills and experiences with them.

As we know, old generation usually resists changes which inhibits them exploring and learning new things. On the contrary, young people are quite acquisitive and believe in change .Therefore, they contribute a lot to innovations and inventions. The youth are the  power behind the nation building and development because they are very energetic and ambitious. In addition to that, they don’t believe in discrimination on the grounds of race, colour, language and gender. Today’s youth is capable of challenging and changing the age-old customs and traditions of a country, in spite of following them blindly.

To conclude, the attitude of different generations towards work and life, defines their behaviour towards each other. Certainly, the youth of today are the future of tomorrow. Nevertheless, the society would become incomplete and uneven without the existence of old people. Therefore, old and experienced people are indispensable to nurture the society as they hold the culture and traditions of a country strong and alive.
