IELTS Writing Sample Answer # Get A Job

You must spend 40 minutes on this task.

The education system of the country is such that many students are forced to study the subjects at school, even though their interest lies somewhere else.

Many people believe that such students must be allowed to get a job early while others believe that they must be convinced to work hard at school.

Discuss.

Every individual is unique and some children rebel going to school. With regard to this, there are two opposite thoughts, one believes that children not interested in school must be allowed to find job, while others are of the opinion that it is the duty of parents to mould their children.

There are several reasons for why going to school is crucial for a child. Firstly, one cannot differentiate between someone who is purely disliking studies for factual reasons or is talented in other ways. Secondly, schools provide the academic information required for enlarging students’ knowledge background. Even more, a school provides the environment for all round development of a child.

However, if an individual is not interested in schools, they must not be forced. Leaving school at early stage has its own advantages. Firstly, a job helps students realise their interests and also improve on their social skills. Furthermore, they can get a better idea of the society during a job, which cannot be obtained in schools. In addition, jobs make people more responsible. For instance, one learns how to manage money and live independently.

Overall, in my opinion, what matters is whether the child is getting the required knowledge. Like Angelina jolie teaches her children at home and Sachin Tendulkar left studies after tenth, it purely depends on what the passion of the person is and school does help in figuring it out. However, if a person is already clear of what they want, he/she must be allowed to work in that field.

IELTS Writing Sample Answer # Internet Communication

You should spend 40 minutes on this task.

With an increasing population communicating via internet and text messaging, face to face communication will become thing of past.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Write at least 250 words.

Internet has revolutionized our lives and changed the way people communicate with each other. Gone are the days of letters and meetings, people instantly send messages of facebook or whatsapp. Some people fear that with coming of internet, people will stop interacting personally and the entire communication will shift from personal to online. In my opinion, although the shift is considerable, it can never replace the face to face interaction.

Internet has helped millions of people in communicating with people they want to. People living at far distance from their family  members are easily able to communicate with their family  and friends at just one click. Even more, the shy people have got a space for interaction. For instance, people who would otherwise not interact with people now go about talking in great lengths with people all across the world.

However, now a days, people often get hooked up to phone, talking to people they will never meet, rather than enjoying with the ones who are near to them. This has in some sense, although bridged a gap between people living far away but also created a gap between those living near.

To sum up, people have surely  changed the way they interact and communication has become online but one cannot deny that people still prefer face to face interaction for important meetings and it is less likely that personal interaction will lose its importance in near future.

IELTS Writing Sample Answer # Time With Grandparents

You should spend 40 minutes on this task.

In modern societies, grandchildren rarely spend time with their grandparents.

What do you think are the consequences of it?

Write at least 250 words.

Grandparents are fun to be with and they shower blessings and affection without wanting anything in return.  Sadly in today’s world where large families are disintegrating into nuclear ones, children miss out on spending enough time with their grandparents and remain off limits from that sweet shower of love that they could have otherwise enjoyed from their grandparents.

Spending little time grandparents can effect the growth of the child. Often parents don’t have time to spend with their children, in these cases, if one does not have the support of grandparents they tend to get mislead-ed in life. For instance, a child having no elder to tell the right and wrong is most likely to fall in trap of the wrong doers, often disturbing the life of an individual.

Secondly, grandparents provide the love and care to the child, required to form a positive image of the society. A child living in the absence of grandparents has little or no awareness about the culture and the family traditions. This often leaves them to live in a void. Example, often parents even know less about the culture and stories of family, if a child misses out living with grandparents they often don’t get to know about their family members and the bond between the family is never strongly formed.

Overall, in my opinion, grandparents provide the support and the care a child needs during the growing up days, missing out on which often leads them to live a life of void and deprived of the true meaning of family.

IELTS Writing Sample Answer # Part-Time Job

You should spend 40 minutes on this task.

In many countries, children are engaged in some kind of paid work. Some people regard this as completely wrong while others believe it is good for the children as it provides valuable work experience, important for learning and taking responsibility.

Do you think that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

You should write at least 250 words.

SAMPLE ANSWER

These days, it is common among children to take a part time job after the school hours. They believe that the job helps them in studies and also gives them the independence to spend on themselves, without any worry. I agree with this point of view, but it is important to bear in mind that juggling between work and studies does not suit everybody.

There are several benefits of taking up a part-time job. For me, the main one is that you become independent. Instead of depending on parents for every day needs, you can buy things for yourself which means you feel more in control. This generally results in children feeling happier in their lives.

Not only that, you can also learn some new and exciting things that not only help you in getting future jobs but also the course that one has taken in college or school. For instance, if you take up a job as a mechanic in a nearby garage, and you study mechanical engineering in a college, you will be able to understand the concepts better. You will therefore be more motivated to work hard, in order to learn more.

Having said that, it is undeniable that working while studying is risky. If the job does not matches with the course or you are spending more time on it, it might rather take a toll of your studies, which is not the best choice to make.  Moreover, it is quite difficult to balance both, especially if you are living alone with no emotional support.

To sum up, although, there is no doubt that some risks are associated with juggling between job and studies, I believe that the advantages outweigh the drawbacks, particularly with regard to taking up responsibility and learning. However, it should be said that not everyone is a risk-taker, and one must not do it just because everyone is doing.
