Describe a journey that was delayed or interrupted.

You should say:

Where were you going?
When were you going?
And explain why it got interrupted?

Answer:

Well, changing gears is something which we sometimes cannot ignore. Being a traveller, I often face challenges while planning a family trip to match the schedule with everyone. I’d like to share a beautiful journey that took an unexpected turn.

I clearly remember the time when I was travelling with my family in the 2025 summer vacation to Port Schooie in the province of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Initially our plan was to stay in our seaside home and enjoy our weekend. However, the plan suddenly changed. As my husband and I come from a business family background, the inevitable business commitments sometimes spoil our mood.

I need to travel to another place in Natal for an emergency business meeting, so immediately I packed my taxi bags and booked a new destination.

For a number of reasons, the meeting became quite hectic. Most of the time I stayed in the meeting hall. There was no time to go out and see any of the tourist attractions in the city. Also, I was advised not to go out in the night.

So, as a whole, this was a disappointing experience I had. That day I realised that life is simply beyond our control. So, we cannot pause or stop the waves; instead, we can try to accept the thing as it is and enjoy the flow rather than complaining.
