SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing in regards to the loss of my student identification card, without which I am facing issues.
I bring my identification card daily and is usually tied to the belt of my paint. But a few days back I noticed it wasn’t there. Even after looking at all the possible places and even complaining at lost and found, I have come to a conclusion, that it might have got lost while I was driving my bike.

Without an ID I am not able to issue any book from library. Even more, to return the books I do require a student ID, failure to produce which the books are not returned. This has caused me a fine of Rs. 100 till date. The absence of ID especially causes issues when there is an event in the college, taking part in which requires my ID.
I am in an urgent need of a new identification card. Although I know that it takes approximately 30 days, I would be grateful if you could issue it earlier. (177 Words)

Faithfully yours,
Anmol.

Changing Looks # Essay For IELTS

People try to change their look by arranging the color of their hair, using cosmetics, wearing jewelry or even having plastic surgery done. Why do you think people do this? Do you think changing look is a good thing?
Write atleast 250 words.
Change is the only thing constant and every decade comes with its own style. There was a time when people were crazy about having long hairs; the other time about wearing broad paints. At present times it is about looking attractive presentable and stylish and different. This has initiated a craze about coloring the hair, wearing funky cosmetics or even plastic surgery.

There could be several reasons for it. Firstly, wearing jewelry is often something that women really like. It makes them feel more lady like. Even more, a new perspective towards jewelry has been seen. It is now getting associated with being stylish. New kind of jewelry have come up and they help in boosting an individual confidence. Secondly, with coming of facebook, Instagram, twitter, people are getting more and more social. And this has brought in them a need for social acceptance. Looking different every day, has caught a new wave and people try every alternative from coloring to piercing to look different. Thirdly, information is flowing in more than one ways, so, when people hear that their favorite stars underwent a surgery and they see good changes, they often try to copy them.

In my opinion, changing look is a good thing and it allows and idea of novelty in one’s life, a kind of freshness that is acceptable. But going to extreme terms like plastic surgery is not something I support. It simply bring the ideas that may be you are not beautiful or you are imperfect. Even more, if people simply change themselves according to others, it somewhere lowers their self-esteem. Overall, change is good once a person has accepted oneself.

Request Compensation or Refund # IELTS Letter

Topic – Complaint Letter

You had a meal at a restaurant. You are not happy with the service. Write a letter to the manager to complain about it. Give details about the problems and request compensation or refund.
Write at least 150 words.

Answer – (Level Band 6.5)

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a regular customer at your restaurant because of the excellent quality and an array of delicious meals that you offer on your menu. This is regarding the meal I had at your restaurant last week. I took my friend for dinner whom I had raved to about your delectable cuisine.

Both my friend and I sat and went through the menu to decide the order. As we sat there, neither did anyone fill up our water glasses, nor did they come to take the order. I had to literally go up to the front desk to request the water as well as place the order. Even after having placed the order, our meal arrived an hour later and that too cold. It was quite embarrassing and disappointing for me as I had given excellent reviews about your food and service to my friend.

After finishing the unsatisfactory meal, I still paid for the food and left a tip for the service staff. I am unsure about the reason for such sloppy and distasteful service and it would be nothing except common courtesy to refund the bill. I request you to look into this matter so that I would once again be confident to visit your restaurant.

Amit Jindal

Solve Growing Traffic And Pollution Problems # IELTS Essay

Topic

Increasing the price of petrol is the best to solve growing traffic and pollution problems.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? What other measures do you think might be effective?

Topic (Essay Level Band 7.0)

In today’s world the main problems which we face in our everyday lives are related to traffic congestion and high levels of pollution. Both these problems, which are inter-related, affect people to a great extent as everyone has to commute for personal and professional reasons. Increasing the price of petrol is not the best way to solve these problems but it can help to reduce them to quite an extent.

These days, everyone uses private vehicles for commuting daily for personal and professional reasons as it is a more comfortable means of travel. This results in the increase of the level of pollution due to the toxic and poisonous fumes emitted by theses vehicles. A reduction in the price of petrol can dissuade a few people from using their vehicles as its usage would become costly. But in general, people who prefer the comfort of their own vehicles would continue to use them irrespective of the decrease in petrol costs. So it is only to an extent this would help curtail the traffic and pollution problems.

SOLVE GROWING TRAFFIC AND POLLUTION PROBLEMS IELTS

SOLVE GROWING TRAFFIC AND POLLUTION PROBLEMS

There can be other measures which can be used to curb the growth of traffic and pollution. First and foremost, public transport should be made easily and cheaply available to the public so that it can become affordable for all people. Secondly, the routes for such transport should also be increased and expanded, especially to those areas where commutation is difficult. Lastly, a tax can be levied on all vehicles which are used by people for personal and professional use.
In conclusion, it can be said that the decrease in the price of petrol would not be a very effective way of curbing traffic and pollution related problems and other measures should be devised to keep these in check.
