SAMPLE ANSWER

The world is rapidly changing and from times of stone age we have moved towards the age when we are surrounded by the cutting-edge technology. In today’s world if someone is hesitant in using computer, he/she is likely to lag behind other people. However, this is not the reason why I love computers. My love towards computers is because I believe that they have made our lives easier like never before. Not only this, computers have opened up so many new career prospects that its absence is felt the hard way.

I personally use computers for either coding or writing. There is this thing about coding, it makes you feel as if you are the creator and it is truly an amazing experience. Even more, being a blogger, I need to put content on my site and do things like video editing and other stuff. Having a computer allows me to have the best of both worlds. To an extent, it is actually my bread earner. Not only this, when combined with Internet, there is almost nothing that one cannot achieve. To an extent, the device has actually made me a cyber addict.

Sometimes I wonder if I don’t have computers, there would nothing else that I will be able to do because it consumes so much of me. However, I do have a love for reading so may be I will join some publishing house where articles are printed the usual way. Or may be I could work more on my badminton skills and do something there.

IELTS Speaking Sample Questions # Understanding Internet

Internet is everywhere and with the entire world being on Internet, it has become the most important thing after electricity. With so many people and households using Internet, let us today have a look at some of the questions related to Internet in order to understand it better.

Does your family have wireless Internet access in your home?

No, we don’t have wireless Internet access. Primarily because, my brother is doing Bachelors in Technology from a different city and I am doing a job somewhere else. It is only once or twice in a year that we go back home. So, having a wireless Internet has no point in it. However, I do have it in my house at the place where I work.

Do you access the Internet from your mobile phone?

Yes, I do access Internet from phone but I prefer using a laptop or a desktop for accessing Internet. It is only for whats app or may be when I need to emergently see something online that I use mobile phone.

What type of pages do you access with your phone?

On my phone, I mostly access my bank website or facebook and sometimes the general questions that pop up during the day.

Do you have many e-mail addresses?

I have got two e-mail addresses, one is for my personal work while the other is for my professional job. It helps me to segregate the two and enjoy the best of both worlds.

Why do you need more than one e-mail address?

Having more than one email address helps in making the data secure. So, like the work email that I have will never contain any private or personal information and vice versa. If in case any one of them gets hacked then I am not losing everything.
understanding the internet

Have you ever chatted on the Internet?

Yes, I have. I have had Facebook account for a very long time, before I finally chose to shut it down. Now, I use whatsapp when I want to talk to people.

Is it dangerous to meet people on the Internet?

I think there is surely some risk involved when you meet a person using Internet because it might be possible that the person that you meet online has faked a lot of things. There have been cases when people met someone online and when they met in real life, things got better. Often the relationship went on to getting married. So, anything can happen but I think apart from the rare cases involved, it is always better to meet people offline and get to know them there.

Would you like to go on a date with someone you meet on the Internet?

I think I might go out on a date but that would be along with a friend. I don’t think there would ever be something like a romantic first date with someone I met on Internet.

Do you think governments have the right to censor the Internet?

Too an extent yes. Because, there are so many ill forces that are acting continuously, that might harm the people. But, then I believe that there should be certain level of freedom associated with it as well. So, it should be free largely with strict laws only at certain places or some websites.

Do you think that the Internet is safe for children? Why?

I believe, No. Internet is not something children should do extensively. Primarily because it is the time when they can make real time friends, go out and play games and get to know each other physically. There is nothing better than playing cricket with a bunch of friends in a field or fighting over some silly point and these things cannot be found in Internet. Also, children don’t know how to use it properly so there are more chances of them getting struck into those malware present in Internet.

Do you think that it is important for schools to have Internet access? Why?

I think definitely yes. A school should provide Internet access but then it should be more of restricted. So, that children are able to use it but only for their own betterment, like allowing them to see the education sites or knowledge related videos. Because, there are still people who cannot afford quality Internet and if a school can provide it there is nothing better than that. But, it should be strictly monitored and made sure that children are watching what they should watch.

I think there is no need of Internet in schools. Children only go there for some time and in that period, there is so much that can be done, you can read books, make friends, play games that I don’t think there is any time left. But, yes, if a child wants to see something online, they can be provided access but it should be completely monitored.

IELTS Speaking # Success And Failure

Success and failure are part and parcel of our lives. No one can live with one thing entirely. Everyone faces both the things and it is the sweetness and sourness of both that makes us what we become. Let us today have a look at some questions that might be asked in IELTS Speaking section.

Is your idea of success same as your parents idea of success?

There is a certain amount of gap between the way me and my parents things. Mostly because they have seen life in some other way, at some other time and faced difficulties of certain different level and degree. According to them, it is very important for a person to have a stable life, earning money and getting married and stuff like that. But, for me, success is happiness. I do need money but more important is the work. For me success is to be able to get up, feeling wow about my life and sleeping with a thank you for a great life, and money doesn’t defines that.

Do you think people focus too much on appearing to be successful?

I think definitely yes. The reason being that we look at a “society claimed” successful person and then try to be like them. So, we define our success on the parameters of what the world thinks is successful. Even more, in our society, it is assumed that the person who has the most amount of money or fame is successful. But, someone who speaks of a content life, with happiness, is assumed to be the non-competitive unsuccessful person. This makes people trying to show about their success stories.

Why do you think money is the most common way of seeing success?

I think this has to do something with the past. In earlier times, people did not had much money. So, anyone who had lot of it and could earn a great lifestyle for themselves was assumed to be successful. And in this fight of becoming successful people have forgotten that earlier people were more happy and content which actually made them more successful.

success and failure

Do you think money can buy happiness?

Of course it can. It can buy the kind of happiness that is outside, imaginary and something that really does not exist. Some people do claim that the food that one eats or gifts is also giving happiness. But, I think it is more about the love and the care that the person brings along that actually gives happiness. When we talk of the true happiness I think it does not comes from money but from the heart and the soul that we give out to ensure that the other person is happy.

How much pressure do your parents put on you to be successful?

I have never felt any kind of pressure from my parents side on being successful but their unhappy faces when I fail, makes me bleed for success. It is not that I cannot accept failure, its just that I like keeping my failures to myself and bring out only the areas where I succeed in front of my parents.

Will you put any pressure on your children to be successful?

I think yes I will. Not because I want them to be rich or successful, but I want them to understand that success is living life on your terms. Doing things that you love and going for something even if the world is against it, but your heart feels it right. And I am going to pressurise my child for that because the world often very forcibly and easily brings out the wrong idea of success in the minds of younger generation, almost ruining their lives.

Have their been any failures that made you better in your life?

Oh! I had so many of them. But, there is this one particular failure that I had during my class 11th which I just cannot forget. The entire scene of the house and the relations that I had completely changed and I felt so much heat around. It was then that I decided that no matter what I am going to give it my best shot to ensure that I succeed.

Do you think there is a right time to give up or stop trying or you think one should never give up?

I think it depends on the thing that you are trying to hold on or give up. Giving up a job that you picked just for money but your heart is somewhere else, should be easy and should be done the moment you realise it. But, leaving something you love just because there are troubles in it, is not a good idea. In situations like these, it should be more of never give up.

Can you remember a famous person who failed spectacularly at something?

The one name that comes to my mind when thinking of someone who failed spectacularly is Steve Jobs. He is that one man who failed like anything and then rose like never before. It was in his late 20s that he was kicked out of his own company, the one company that he worked out so much to build, he was kicked out, with no job at hand. When most of us would have thought it to be the end, he started a new beginning.

IELTS Speaking Sample Answer # Adoption

Adoption is a process in which an individual or parents adopt or legally take another’s child and raise as their own. There are many adoption centers and so many children hoping to get adopted to a better lifestyle. Let us today have a look at some of the possible IELTS questions related to adoption that can be asked in IELTS speaking section.

How is adoption viewed in your country?

Adoption is a new term in our country. Too an extent, it is still a little difficult for the child to be known as the adopted child. But, I would say that with education and more job availability, people are starting to look adoption as a very natural process. There have even been parents who have raised their own children and then adopted others to provide them good lifestyle.

Do you know anyone who has been adopted?

There is no one in my extended family or friends who has ever been adopted or want to go for adoption. But, there is a family member of my friend who is adopting a girl to provide her education and share her lifestyle with her. I think it is a great thought of her and I hope she is able to give the girl child all that is required to lead a great life.

adoption

Can you think of any famous people who was adopted?

Yes surely. Steve Jobs was adopted and he turned out to be a great asset to the world. He even said in his autobiography that whatever little electronics he knew, it is because of his father. I remember reading, Nelson Mandela was an adopted child.

How does being adopted affect a child’s view of themselves?

I think it totally depends on how the society makes them feel about themselves. Even more, it is about the parents who have adopted them. If there is a friendly relation between the child and the parent, I think there is not much that society can affect because in the end the child can always clarify the doubts with their parent.

What are some of the reason people adopt children?

There could be many reasons for adopting children. It might be possible that they themselves were adopted and they want to give back what they got. Also, infertility is a common reason for people to adopt children. And then there are some amazing people who adopt because they don’t want to wait for their partners to arrive in their lives. There are so many single parents out there. And then there are so many other factors like may be they fall in love with a child or because they want to help community.

What are some of the reasons that people give children for adoption?

No matter what, it is really tough for a mother to give her child up for adoption. But, then there could be many reasons for it. There are times when parents don’t have the resource for giving a good lifestyle to their children. Even some people become single parent and they don’t want that, so they give their child up for adoption. Even a woman who becomes pregnant in her teen years might opt for adoption.

What do you think about the adoption system in your country?

The adoption system in my country is pretty good. There are areas that have been taken care of. Like, a single male cannot adopt a girl child. Also, if the parents have any life threatening disease, they cannot adopt a child. There should be some difference in the age of parent and the child. However, I think there should be more awareness about adoption to people. Because, it is when the term becomes familiar, people will start adopting children.

What do you think about couples that adopt children from different countries?

I think it is a great thing that they do but I am skeptical of whether they are able to raise their children in a very healthy environment. Because, a child knows that he/she does not belong there and they have been brought and settled there. But, if the parents are able to bring down the idea of oneness among the children, it is good thing. Because, a developed country can always provide better facilities than a underdeveloped one.

What qualities make a couple or a person qualified to adopt a child?

I think openness is one thing that is very important for a person to adopt a child. The parent has to be prepared for the day when the child comes home asking “Is he/she adopted?”. And all those questions that society will bring in their minds. Even more, patience is something very important as a parent of an adopted child.

Should the adoption process be more, or less, difficult than it is now?

I think it should be appropriate for the child. Making it more difficult would some how protect the child. But I think the main motive behind making the adoption process less or more difficult should be to ensure that first, the child gets adopted. Second, that the child gets adopted to a good family which can provide better future. And the most important thing is that the child gets the love, care and security required for a healthy life.

Should people be able to decide what type of children they want to adopt? For example: boy or girl, hair color, age, etc.

In my opinion, people should be able to decide at least the age of the child. Because, if that they are not able to decide, it would become quite difficult. Apart from that, I think the gender and the other characteristics should be kept hidden, the way in normal delivery. Because it allows that excitement we have when a new child is born and reduces the cases of gender inequality.
