Optional Practical Training

There is an old adage that you always learn more on the job than you ever do by simply reading books. This is true because in a job you get to handle the real work, you implement what you have grasped from the books. you learn how to deal with work pressure. Owing to this the US offers students with optional practical training(OPT).

OPT is the period during which undergraduate and graduate students with F1-status are allowed to work for at most one year on student visa towards getting practical training to complement their field of study. The permission is granted by the USCIS (United states custom and immigration services). A student who is has either completed their degree or has completed nine months in the college can apply to the OPT.

OPT is granted for 12 and 17 months. To be eligible for the 12 month OPT students can be of any degree in any field but for 17 month you need to have received a STEM degree in one of the approved major listed on USCIS website.

It is of two types-:
1.When haven’t completed your degree-: In this case, you work as part time.
2.When you have completed your degree-: in this case you work full time i.e 20 hours a week.
All you need to do is take the first step, all you need to have is the will, the way will get created on its own.

Money Matters

a degree is not enough, you need money as well.

Do you want a degree from abroad universities to boast about it? Or do you want a career out of it? Because if you just want to swagger, pick any university blindly. But if you want a job, then just don’t settle to a tag of the abroad university.
We often think that a degree from foreign college is enough to get a job. But the fact is nothing is ever enough. So what should you do if you want a reputable job? Well, apart from the hard work do a little smart work as well.

  1. CHOOSE WELL-: You know there are times when a particular course has no job opportunities or very few of it. What to do then? Well, figure out the various courses offered and go for those which have some probability of getting a job.

Never Assume You Have Failed

NEVER ASSUME YOU HAVE FAILED IN THE IELTS TEST

It is IMPORTANT to be psychologically prepared for the IELTS test . It happens to many people during their exams that something unexpected happens and they panic. Some test takers assume they have failed (without even knowing it for sure) and naturally that affects their performance.

It’s not over until it’s over. There are parts of the IELTS assessment that are confidential and in many cases we may think that something will ruin our score when in fact it may affect it a little or not at all.
