We already had a look at some of the questions related to goals. We know that goals are important but we need to realize that it is very important for us to have motivation in our lives to be able to achieve those goals. Let us today have a look at some of the more questions that might be asked in IELTS related to goals and motivation.

Do you have any goals that you feel are unrealistic?

I believe that when you truly wish for something from the heart, you do achieve it. So, if there is something that I want, it might be possible that it is not possible in the present, but if I work hard on it and more importantly right on it , I can achieve it.

How do people’s goals change from country to country?

Every country has its own culture and people have their own priorities. So, may be the most important thing for a person in United States may be to open his or her business but may be for someone who belongs to a country like Pakistan, could be to find peace and have a secure job. However, every individual can have unique goals and they need not to be country specific.

What are your goals in your current job?

At my present job, I wish to be able to learn new technology as soon as possible and start working on it. Once I am master of my technology, I wish to explore the other sides of my personality as well.

How would you feel if you failed to achieve any of your goals?

It feels really bad, more importantly like a loser. But after some time one feels numb and that is it. The body gets used to the fact of losing and it becomes really irritating for an individual. It takes lot of fight back then to achieve a goal because at some point of time we do become our own enemies.

Do you think it’s a good idea to write your goals down and tick them off as you achieve them?

Surely yes, doing this helps in keeping the individual motivated. Because when you see yourself achieving things you know exactly where you stand and how much is left. This know how to a certain degree helps in keep going.

How important are goals to you?

A goal without a plan is just a wish. Goals are the most important thing for me but more important is the journey towards achieving that goal. I wish to achieve my goals but only when I follow a right path. Achieving goals following wrong path or my betraying is something I would avoid.

What do you hope to have achieved by the time you’re sixty?

I hope happiness and satisfaction are the two things that I have when I am sixty. I wish that the day I die, and in the last 30 seconds of my flashback of my life, my arm should rise up and pat my back. I want to say to myself that I am proud of you because I lived a life.

What is a goal?

Goal is a dream with a time limit. So, someone might have a dream of becoming a singer but when that person says, I am going to be a singer in next one year, it is then that it becomes a goal.

Can goals help to change your life? How?

Goals certainly shape our lives. It is our goals that decide on what kind of decisions that we will take, the risks that we take, the people that we meet and the life that we choose to live. So, a painter will go out on exhibitions, make changes in life that suit the profession and meet like minded people.

How are plans and goals related?

Plans are tend to be more short sighted but goals have a little more time span. So, you might have the plan to go out on a weekend but goals are something more specific. Also, goals are something that are more personal with plans including lot of people.

Are you ambitious enough to achieve the goals you set?

Most of the times yes, I strive very hard to achieve my goals. Because not being able to achieve goals gives me a lot of dissatisfaction that is too annoying to bear.

Do you have spiritual/religious goals?

Spiritual goals you may say, yes I do have. I believe that we all have come here on Earth for a purpose, there is a reason for our existence and I wish to find that out for myself. I want that I am able to live a life I am sent for, to be able to do the task that I have been assigned to.

What is something you never learned to do but wish you had?

I could never learn any form of dance and I wish I could have learnt it earlier. However, I am planning to very soon learn a form of dance.
